According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the wreck happened on Thursday afternoon near the intersection of Highway 226 South and Interstate 40. Initial reports indicate that the tanker was hauling heating oil at the time of the crash. During the crash, the truck overturned and reportedly spilled gasoline and maybe heating oil onto the roadway. The driver claims that the brakes malfunctioned at the red light causing him to lose control of the large vehicle. A portion of Highway 226 had to be closed in both directions as first responders and crews worked the scene.
On Friday, a semi truck overturned on Interstate 40. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened in Haywood County, near Mile Maker 17 and Fines Creek Road. Very few details have been released about this truck crash, but we do know that traffic was backed up for most of the day as crews worked the scene. A portion of the eastbound side of the roadway was closed until nearly 8:00 p.m. Minor injuries were reported on the scene.

On Tuesday morning, a crash involving a dump truck had traffic backed up in Asheville for hours. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened on the ramp to I-40 west at Highway 74. Although very few details have been released, we do know that a large piece of heavy equipment fell off of the back of the truck's trailer. The equipment fell onto an oncoming car. Apparently, the driver of the dump truck was traveling too fast for the roadway conditions.
On Sunday night, a family of three was killed in a wreck involving a semi truck in Buncombe County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the collision happened at about 8:40 p.m., in the eastbound lane of I-40, near mile-maker 56. For currently unknown reasons, a tractor-trailer merged into the right lane and into the path of a 1998 Ford Escort. The Escort was run off of the roadway and crashed into a heavily wooded area. The car hit multiple trees before stopping.

According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the collision happened on Interstate 85, near mile maker 36 and involved a cargo truck and a trash truck. Although very few details have been released, we do know that the two trucks collided and burst into flames.

On Tuesday morning, a Buncombe County crash involving a garbage truck sent one person to the hospital. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the wreck happened around 7:00 a.m. on Brevard Road, near the Blue Ridge Parkway intersection. Apparently, the driver of a garbage truck ran off the road and over corrected the vehicle, causing it to flip on top of a Kia Soul. Emergency responders had to free the trapped driver of the Kia.
