Officials with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are calling on fans to celebrate the Super Bowl responsibly. Because the Super Bowl has become synonymous with alcohol consumption and an increase in drunk driving crashes on roadways across the nation, the NHTSA's "Fans Don't Let Fans Drive Drunk" campaign is aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drunk driving on Super Bowl Sunday, and all yearlong.

Designate a Driver for the Big Game
Whether you're going to a friend's house or your favorite sports bar, make sure to designate a driver before the big game. If you don't have a designated driver, make sure you have a plan to get home safely. This can be as simple as using a rideshare app or calling a taxi. Just make a plan ahead of time, so you're not scrambling at the end of the night. Download the app or pre-program the cab company's number into your phone before you start celebrating the game with alcohol. The NHTSA wants motorists to know that Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving too, so make sure to get a safe ride home, even if you've had "just a few."
