Four Injured in Buncombe County Van Crash

On Monday morning, four people were injured when a van crashed into an off-duty police officer's vehicle in Buncombe County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened at New Leicester Highway and Newfound Road. Initial reports indicate that the 69-year-old van driver ran a stop sign and crashed into the off-duty cop's car.

The police officer and three occupants that were in the Mountain Mobility van were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. There has been no word their current conditions, and the driver of the van has been charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.
