Mountain Counties Score Low for Aggressive Driving

Recent data shows that mountain counties scored relatively low for instances of aggressive driving in the State of North Carolina. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, Mecklenburg County issued 270 citations for aggressive driving last year. Incidents involving aggressive diving included speeding and two other offenses. Additional offenses can include running a red light, rolling through a stop sign, illegal passing, failing to yield and following another vehicle too closely.

Wake County, which ranks second in population, had 67 aggressive driving citations for the year. Buncombe County, the seventh largest county, had 17 drivers cited for aggressive driving. Henderson County had eight citations, and Haywood had two.
