Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Mills River

On Thursday night, a pedestrian was struck and killed in Mills River. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened on N.C. 280, near the intersection of Turnpike Road, just before 8:00 p.m. Very few details have been released about this crash, but we do know that the pedestrian was near the center turn lane when he was struck.

Truck Crash Explosion in Polk County

On Friday night, a crash involving two tractor-trailers resulted in an explosion in Polk County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the wreck happened on Interstate 26, near Holbert Cove Road. Very little information has been released about this truck crash, but we do know that one of the big rigs was hauling butane at the time of the wreck. Initial reports indicate that one of the trucks collided with the other somewhere near Exit 59, just west of Columbus at Mile Marker 61. Minor injuries were reported with this truck crash. At this time, there has been no word on the cause of the collision, which is likely still under investigation.

U-Haul Truck Crash in Asheville

Early Tuesday morning, a U-Haul truck crashed into a power pole in Asheville. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened on New Leicester Highway, near the entrance of Meadows Apartments and Evelake Drive, at about 4:45 a.m. Very few details about the crash have been released, but we do know that the driver reportedly left the scene after the wreck. 

Church Van Injury Crash in Henderson County

On Tuesday afternoon, there was an injury crash involving a church van in Henderson County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened in Edneyville at about 12:45 p.m. Very little information has been released about this van crash, but we do know that at least six people were injured. Initial reports indicate that the church van left the roadway and struck a tree. No other vehicles were involved in this crash. No information has been released on the cause of the wreck, which is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials. At the time of the news report, no charges or citations had been filed.

Multi-Car Crash on I-26 in Asheville

Over the weekend, there was a multi-car crash on I-26 in Asheville. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened in the eastbound lanes near the Long Shoals Road exit. Very few details have been released, but we do know that three vehicles were involved in the crash, and one of them overturned.

Crash Involving NASCAR Driver in Asheville

Over the weekend, NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Jack Ingram was seriously injured in a crash in Asheville. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the wreck happened on Amboy Road, at the intersection of Short Michigan Avenue at Carrier Park. Very few details have been released about the crash, but we do know that it happened just a few hundred feet away from the former Asheville speedway. There has been no word on the cause of the crash, although initial reports indicate that Ingram's vehicle was hit on Amboy Road. First responders rushed to the scene and Ingram was taken to Mission Hospital for treatment of injuries.
