Injuries Associated With Pedestrian Crashes

Collisions with cars can be devastating, catastrophic or fatal for pedestrians involved. After all, a pedestrian doesn't even have the benefit of a helmet like a cyclist. Pedestrians are one of the most vulnerable roadway user groups in the U.S. A variety of injuries are commonly seen in pedestrian accidents including lacerations, fractures, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and trauma to internal organs. Even at seemingly slow speeds, crashes involving cars and pedestrians can leave victims in the hospital for extended periods of time.

Increasing Pedestrian Safety in Asheville

There are ways for pedestrians to increase their personal safety. For example, wearing brightly colored clothes to increase visibility is a great idea. Also, using crosswalks when they're available can help to improve overall safety when navigating the roadways on foot. Pilot programs for increasing pedestrian safety are popping up in Asheville too. These safety initiatives are aimed at increasing visibility for pedestrians crossing busy roadways. Ultimately, it's up to drivers to lookout for pedestrians and share the roadways.

The team at Davis Law Group, P.A. sends their deepest condolences to Spinney's family members and friends.
